Student and Continuing Education Credit Opportunities

STUDENTS/MEMBERS OF THE FOLLOWING ORGANIZATIONS MAY OBTAIN CREDITS FOR ALL CONSCIOUS WOMAN OFFERINGS

Ancient Art Midwifery Institute
The Ancient Art Midwifery Institute (AAMI) pioneered distance learning for midwives in 1981.  It set the standard of excellence in academic midwifery education with the original midwifery home study course.  AAMI honors the midwife of yesterday, supports the midwife of today, and holds the door open for the midwife of tomorrow. www.ancientartmidwifery.com

International Chiropractic Pediatric Association
The ICPA is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the awareness of the family wellness lifestyle. it offers professional classes, provides outstanding resources and oversees pertinent research relative to family wellness. The ICPA strongly supports parents rights to make informed health care decisions for their families. www.icpa4kids.org

Midwives College of Utah
Midwives College of Utah’s (MCU) mission is to build midwives of technical expertise, professional excellence, and personal greatness– namely Midwives of Excellence.  MCU midwives will be pivotal in the “tipping” revolution of maternity care and birth culture throughout North America (and beyond) in the 21st Century. www.midwifery.edu

OTHER ORGANIZATIONS THAT PROVIDE CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS FOR
MANY OF OUR PROGRAMS

Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association (CAPPA)
We have been informed that any childbirth-related event that a CAPPA member can prove she attended (i.e. a certificate is issued), will be accepted by CAPPA for continuing education.  It usually has to be directly related to their specialty (such as childbirth education, lactation education or postpartum issues, etc.).  CAPPA also accepts credits for programs approved by IBLCE and MEAC. http://www.cappa.net/

International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE)
Many of our programs have been approved in past years for credits with the IBLCE.  Although we have not renewed CERPS for many of our programs, the IBLCE has informed us that our program viewers may apply independently for CERPS. Although we will provide a Certificate of Completion to anyone who requests one, we recommend that you contact the IBLCE directly to assure that you will receive CERPS for the program you are interested in viewing.  The likelihood is high with our previously-approved programs.  See program listing below for more details.  http://www.iblce.org/

International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA)
Although we have not applied directly with them, the International Childbirth Education Association has informed us that they will provide retroactive credit for many of our programs upon participant completion of the ICEA application form located at https://www.icea.org/ct_contact.html and submission of a Conscious Woman Certificate of Attendance. Provided there is sufficient interest, we will apply directly through ICEA for future Conscious Woman programming.
