Thinking Twice About Cesarean Surgery

Sarah J. Buckley, MD reveals the latest medical evidence about the risks, benefits and side effects of cesareans, including little-known research on the altered physiology (body processes) of cesarean newborns. One of six lectures in our Gentle Birth: The Science and the Wisdom series, lectures that focus on the natural processes of birth, and the impact of interventions in pregnancy and birth on both mothers and babies.

These ground-breaking lectures, based on Dr. Buckley’s public talks and conference presentations in the US, Australia and New Zealand, are educational and informative for midwives, nurses, childbirth educators, doulas, natural health practitioners and others. This series is also valuable for parents who want to be fully informed about their choices in pregnancy and birth.

This session is 90 minutes in length.
